The largest search engine on the Internet alias Google has announced that it will accept crypto currencies to pay for its cloud services from 2023. This decision is the result of a partnership between Google and Coinbase, an American company which offers services of cryptocurrency trading.
Google and Coinbase team up to make the Web3 ecosystem more accessible with crypto currencies
Posting on all crypto news a few days ago, Google made an important and long-awaited announcement.
Indeed, the web giant has announced its collaboration with Coinbase so that invoices related to its Cloud services can be paid in cryptocurrency.
This is a major step forward that will only boost and further develop the Web3 ecosystem because now Google customers will be able to use the cryptocurrencies they have in their digital wallet to pay their bill to Google.
In order to take advantage of this new Google service, payments will be made via the Coinbase platform (see also: the two new services that Coinbase offers). Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange of American origin and which has a very good reputation in the crypto market.
To facilitate the use of this new service from 2023, Google plans to make use of its high-end fiber optic network.
This should make it possible, among other things, to avoid bugs during calculations and data processing on the blockchain. Specifically for Coinbase customers, they will benefit from a secure Google Cloud infrastructure.
Also, all users will have access to training on digital currencies and the blockchain. These trainings will be based on a machine learning system.
Google wants to boost the digital asset market
Google has announced the arrival of a new payment method for its Cloud services from the beginning of 2023. Admittedly, coins or tokens that will be used to pay for Google services are not yet specified by Google or Coinbase.
However, it is very likely that the virtual currencies that will be prioritized will include among them Bitcoin, Ether from the Ethereum blockchain and USD Coin.
All of these digital currencies are already supported by the Coinbase crypto trading platform and more specifically by its Coinbase Commerce service.
According to the first details of this information, the Google Cloud Platform infrastructure service authorizes payments in digital assets to a handful of customers before generalizing the system to all.
As a reminder, Coinbase Commerce supports 10 different cryptocurrencies currently among all those available on the market. These are Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum Ether, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dai, APE Coin, USDC and USDT.
As for the other details and conditions of this historic agreement, nothing has been disclosed. However, it is certain that Coinbase will have a percentage on each transaction that will pass through its platform.
The most important thing to remember is the announcement made by Google. As for other details, more information will be released in the days and weeks to come.
